MG Glovebox Latch – 3D Printed Replacement
A client inherited two beautiful 1964 MG MGB Roadsters from his father, who had kept them in excellent condition. The only missing pieces on both cars were the glovebox latch parts.
He borrowed original parts from another MG owner so I could reverse-engineer them. I modeled and 3D printed a full set of replacements:
Rigid mounting plates in black PETG
Soft, flexible bumpers in black TPU (to match the original rubber feel)
The new parts fit perfectly and completely eliminated the annoying glovebox rattle on both cars. He finally has the complete, functional setup his father’s cars were missing.
A fun project that brought these classic British roadsters one step closer to perfection.
The PETG parts replaced the metal plate and the TPU replaced the rubber part. Made for a much quieter ride.
